Dr. Dawn Stacey one of Canada’s top nurse academics

Dr. Dawn StaceyDr. Dawn Stacey has been ranked as one of the most cited nurse academics in Canada. According to a paper published in the Journal of Advanced Nursing, Dr. Stacey’s research has been cited 7241 times in the Scopus database over her career, putting her in third place out of 1157 Canadian nurse academics. She continues to be cited, with over 14,000 citations in Google Scholar, and an h index of 45 representing a high level of scientific productivity. Her systematic review published in 2011, “Decision aids for people facing health treatment or screening decisions,” is the most-cited article with a Canadian nurse academic as first author.

Decision aids help people weigh the possible benefits and harms of treatment and screening options. Dr. Stacey and her team maintain the world’s largest inventory of patient decision aids, which generates over 30,000 page views per year and over 700,000 on other website resources. Their decision aids are used by patients and health-care providers at The Ottawa Hospital and around the world.
