Dr. Phil Wells discusses his research on blood thinners on CTV National News
November 18, 2007
Dr. Phil Wells was interviewed on CTV National News about his research on different ways to monitor blood consistency, an issue that is crucial for the thousands of Canadians who need frequent monitoring to adjust their dose of blood thinning medication. Dr. Wells discussed his meta-analysis, published in Open Medicine, which showed that patients who used a device to monitor their blood consistency at home had fewer blood clots, strokes, heart attacks and deaths compared to those who received hospital testing. The exact reason for the difference will be the subject of further research
