$3.5M to make mobile immunization app available to everyone, everywhere
April 22, 2016
ImmunizeCA
, the popular mobile immunization app developed by Dr.
Kumanan Wilson
and his mHealth Research Team, will soon be even better thanks to a $3.5M investment from the Public Health Agency of Canada. The Honourable Dr. Jane Philpott, Minister of Health, made the announcement last week at Ottawa Public Health, along with Dr. Wilson and his team, and partners from, the Canadian Public Health Association, Immunize Canada and the Better Outcomes Registry and Network at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. Launched in 2014, ImmunizeCA helps Canadians keep accurate immunization records and make informed decisions about their health. The new funding will support a number of new features, including a secure portal for family record-sharing and customized vaccination schedules for newcomers to Canada and people with special health conditions. The app will also be accessible via desktop computer, and the goal will be to integrate with provincial immunization records. The event was covered by Global TV, CTV Ottawa and APTN. See

for details.
