Job Description
The Hatching Ideas Lab is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant III to join our mental health research team. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, energetic, and will be involved in both behavioural and pharmaceutical trials in the treatment of a variety of mental health conditions.

Day-to-day activities will involve recruitment of participants for ongoing clinical trials and observational studies, data collection and data entry, as well as other study-related tasks. The position will be primarily in-person, with studies across all three campuses and some satellite sites (General Campus, Civic Campus, Riverside Professional Building, and OnTrack First Episode Psychosis Program), with some opportunity for hybrid work. Work may also require some flexibility to work evening shifts (e.g. 12-8pm) as some trials may require evening data collection.

Basic Requirements (Education/Experience):

Education/Certifications:
•Undergraduate degree, in a related discipline, such as Mental Health, Health Sciences, Psychology, Epidemiology
•Evidence of research ethics training (GCP, TCPS-2) is considered an asset.

Employment Experience:
•Minimum 2 years’ experience in a human clinical or health research environment.
•Demonstrated experienced recruiting and consenting participants for research studies.
•Demonstrated experienced conducting study visits for studies.
•Knowledge of Mental Health research, digital health, and/or standardized assessments in mental health and clinical trials are a strong asset.
•Professional experience and comfort dealing with issues that relate sensitive topics, such as symptoms related to mental illness, including suicidal thoughts and behaviours, substance use and/or trauma.

Personal Qualities:
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
•Excellent organizational and time-management skills required to coordinate multiple activities to meet tight or changing deadlines.
•Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills required to deal with unexpected situations or issues.
•Flexible and cooperative spirit with a strong commitment to team efforts.
•Outcome-driven with the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, including working from home.

Other Skills/Qualifications:
•Excellent computer skills (MS Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
•Experience with Electronic Data Capture Systems (e.g. REDCap) an asset.
•Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems (Epic preferred) an asset.
•Proficiency with reference manager software (EndNote) an asset.
•Knowledge of qualitative analysis software (NVivo) is considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experienced working with vulnerable populations.
•Experience with Qualitative research (interviewing, coding etc.).

Contract Details:
This is a 1-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal.
Salary: Min: $29.964 - Max: $40.647
