Changes at the International Regulome Consortium
April 4, 2009
The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) has been advised that Genome Canada will not be providing new funding for the International Regulome Consortium (IRC) this year. IRC is a third generation genomics project involving 12 countries. In total, it has received $75M in funding, with the large majority coming from non-Canadian sources. It is led by Dr. Michael Rudnicki, a Senior Scientist at OHRI.
OHRI would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Genome Canada’s past support for the IRC. The funding has led to many important discoveries by scientists across Canada and the world, and the Consortium is internationally recognized as a major success. IRC has notified its members and they will continue to pursue other funding opportunities in Canada.
