NAV CANADA raises $350,000 for pioneering cancer research

September 3, 2014

Employees of NAV CANADA, the country’s air traffic controllers, have raised $350,000 for cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital. This is the seventh year in a row that employees at NAV CANADA have raised money for cancer research. Including matching contributions from the employer, to date NAV CANADA has raised a total of $2 million to support ongoing cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital. The latest fundraising effort will go to support the research lab of Dr. John Bell and his pioneering work into the use of oncolytic viruses to fight cancer and shrink tumours. Dr. Bell was presented with a ceremonial cheque from NAV CANADA at the company’s summer employee picnic held on August 9. Read the news release from NAV CANADA.
