“It continues to be an honour and privilege to serve the Ottawa community,” said Ms. Crowe. “I am grateful to support the continued excellence at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.”The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute’s Board of Directors is delighted to welcome Marion Crowe as Vice-Chair of the Board and the first Indigenous Board Member.
Ms. Crowe, a proud member of the Piapot First Nation in Saskatchewan, was the founding Executive Director, now Chief Executive Officer of the First Nations Health Managers Association (FNHMA). She is also a member of The Ottawa Hospital Board of Governors.
Ms. Crowe has established FNHMA as a leader in health management by developing and promoting quality standards, practices, research, certification, and professional development to expand capacity for members and First Nations organizations. Her hard work has gained national recognition and has been acknowledged in many different ways, including blanket ceremonies, nominations, and leadership awards.
Ms. Crowe has been awarded achievement milestones, such as: A Health Canada Deputy Minister’s Award of Excellence; A Centennial Leadership Award from the Province of Saskatchewan; and the AFOA Canada – Xerox Canada National Award of Excellence in Aboriginal Leadership in 2015. She has also attended Harvard Business School and completed the ‘Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities’ certificate.
