Team recognized for innovative data analysis to answer important health questions
September 30, 2015
The Ottawa Hospital’s Performance Measurement Team ranked second (along with four other teams) in
Canada Health Infoway’s 2015 ImagineNation Data Impact Challenge
, a national competition calling for innovative use of data to answer daunting questions about our health and health-care system. The challenge, which offered up to $80,000 in awards, resulted in 41 submissions from 25 teams across Canada. Thanks to the high quality data available in The Ottawa Hospital’s Data Warehouse, the team submitted more responses than any other, on topics ranging from discharge summaries and hospital readmissions to blood tests and pre-operative screening. Team members: Yiran (Erin) Liu, Deanna Rothwell, Nadine Lawrence, Jocelyn Tufts, Kristy Zhou, Amal Al Zayadi, Ata Torabi, Jo Ann Colas, Pedram Noghani, Saskia Vanderloo, Alison Jennings.
