N2/CAREB Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) The Ottawa Health Science Network Research Ethics Board (OHSN-REB) has adopted a complete roster of REB Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) developed by the Network of Networks (N2) and the Canadian Association of Research Ethics Boards (CAREB) to guide the operations and review process of the board. These SOPs are compliant with applicable Canadian and US regulations, ethics policy statement and Good Clinical Practice Guidelines. The adoption of the N2/CAREB REB SOPs will help to facilitate a single standard for REBs in Canada. N2 and CAREB have created a unique environment for Research Ethics Boards across Canada to benefit from the experience and expertise of others, and the sharing of "best in class" tools, such as standard operating procedures. In addition, N2 provides on-line training to enhance national clinical research capability and capacity. The following list of SOPs is the subset of procedures which directly describe responsibilities for investigators and research staff in conjunction with REB correspondence. Your training requirements related to REB correspondence are covered by documenting training on the N2 Clinical Research SOP 002, SOP 006, SOP 007, and SOP 013. These are posted for informational purposes.
