Des chercheurs de L’Hôpital d’Ottawa bénéficient de 13 subventions des IRSC évaluées à plus de 10 M$

Des chercheurs de L’Hôpital d’Ottawa ont reçu plus de 10 M$ des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC) pour diriger 13 projets de recherche de pointe. Ces projets feront progresser la science et amélioreront les résultats pour la santé dans des domaines tels que les maladies neuromusculaires, les maladies rénales, les maladies pulmonaires, le développement du cerveau, la dépression, la confiance dans les soins de santé, l’insuffisance cardiaque, les cellules souches, le cancer, la préréadaptation, l’engagement des patients et la prévention des infections.

Quatre autres subventions sont également codirigées par des chercheurs de L’Hôpital d’Ottawa, mais administrées au sein d’un autre établissement.  

« En soutenant des idées audacieuses et les personnes qui en sont à l’origine, ces subventions accéléreront la recherche de pointe en santé et l’application des résultats au chevet des patients, ce qui permettra d’offrir de nouvelles techniques de diagnostic, de nouvelles thérapies et de nouvelles stratégies de prévention aux patients et de s’assurer que nous fournissons les soins les plus efficaces et performants », a déclaré la D^re Rebecca Auer, vice-présidente exécutive de la Recherche et de l’Innovation à L’Hôpital d’Ottawa, PDG et directrice scientifique de l’Institut de recherche de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa et professeure à l’Université d’Ottawa. « Cet investissement dans la recherche et l’innovation au Canada est une reconnaissance de l’importance de l’industrie de la recherche en santé au Canada dans un contexte mondial en pleine évolution. »
