Researchers at The Ottawa Hospital are leading nine new projects funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) through the most recent operating grant and SPOR innovative clinical trial competitions.
These projects, worth more than $5 million, will advance science and improve health in areas such as autism, acute kidney injury, pregnancy, cardiovascular disease, COVID-19, surgery, mental health and hospital discharge planning.
Our researchers are also co-leading grants administered at other institutions that are worth at least $5 million.
“These research projects will help us provide the best care possible for our patients and community, while advancing science and improving health on a global scale,” said Dr. Duncan Stewart, Executive Vice-President, Research at The Ottawa Hospital and professor at the University of Ottawa.
