OHRI provides a wide variety of research support services, including grants management, contracts, tech transfer, human resources, research safety and clinical research support.
Some of these services have external webpages, while some are only accessible through OHRI’s intranet (log in to IRISGuide with your TOH/OHRI credentials for Office 365).
Analytics
Provides access to data, methods and information from TOH and support decision-making and research activities.
Clinical Research Approvals
Ensures institutional requirements are met before starting a study.
Communications
Supporting branding, newsletters, social media, press releases, and communications content.
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
Helps foster an inclusive and supportive environment at OHRI
Facilities Operations
Oversees research facilities operations, space allocation, renovations and equipment maintenance.
Finance
Manages invoicing and financing for all internal and external grants, contracts, services and purchasing.
Grants and Awards
Supports all external and internal grant/awards applications and programs.
Human Resources
Supports recruitment, hiring, training, and employee management.
Ottawa Health Science Network Research Ethics Board
Reviews and approves studies involving human participants.
Planetary Health
Helps reduce the impact of research on planetary health and the environment.
Research Contracts
Negotiates research contracts and provides legal advice to OHRI.
Research Data Management
Guides the organization’s storage and sharing of research data and supports the privacy and protection of data.
Research Safety
Administers the research safety and biosafety programs for basic and clinical research, including training, equipment maintenance, licensing and credentialing for all research lab facilities.
Technology Transfer
Oversees and supports commercialization, non-clinical collaborations and intellectual property management, including patent applications, licensing, and all IP and related partners.
Training
Provides orientation and support for students and postdoctoral fellows.
Our Core Facilities and Platforms
OHRI provides state-of-the-art core research facilities and platforms to internal and external users. These platforms are fueling world-class research in areas ranging from genomics and proteomics, to cell and virus manufacturing, to clinical trials and epidemiological studies.
