Acute Care Research Program

Our research touches on everything from basic science to improve our understanding of mechanisms of acute diseases, to developing and testing novel treatments, to implementing more effective care processes.

Acute Care Research Program

The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute’s Acute Care Research Program includes 454 scientists, investigators, trainees and staff conducting research in areas such as emergency medicine, critical care, surgery, anesthesiology, obstetrics and gynecology and otolaryngology.

Our research touches on everything from basic science to improve our understanding of mechanisms of acute diseases, to developing and testing novel treatments, to implementing more effective care processes.

We actively engage a wide variety of partners in our research, including patients and family members, medical and allied health professionals and others.

The Acute Care Research Program is led by Dr. Jeffrey Perry.
