The Huang lab aims to understand the cellular and molecular pathogenic mechanisms of syndromic autism spectrum disorders using innovative preclinical models. The ultimate goal is to translate discoveries to personalized solutions. We leverage novel disease models (patient-derived stem cells, neural organoids, and in vivo models), biochemistry, behavioural assays, patch-clamp electrophysiology, single-cell and multiomic approaches, tissue clearing and imaging, CRISPR and drug screens, and engineering of novel therapeutics to tackle debilitating core and comorbid symptoms associated with syndromic autism.
