Job description
The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a part-time (0.8FTE) Clinical Research Assistant II. This position will be located at the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus. The individual will be responsible primarily for in-person patient recruitment for the Canadian Spine Outcomes and Research Network (CSORN) database study. This position may also involve data collection, data entry, and assistance with research ethics board submissions for ongoing research studies under the general direction of Scientists and the Research Program Manager. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who works well in a fast-paced team environment who is comfortable working in a busy clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Screening, recruitment, enrolment, and follow-up of study participants
- Data collection and data entry
- Close communication with surgeons, principal investigators, and other members of the research team
- Liaising with various TOH departments, REB/contracts office, sponsors, and external collaborators.
- Research ethics board submissions
Basic Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a health-related field.
- Minimum of two years of clinical research experience in a health-related discipline.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Strong computer skills: MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Bilingual (French and English)
Contract Details
This is a 1-year part-time regular contract.
Salary
Salary: Min: $25.842 - Max: $34.455
