Job description

Under the supervision of Dr. Justin Presseau and Dr. Jen Olson, the prospective candidate will join a vibrant team in an exciting new position in the Methodological and Implementation Research Program and Centre for Implementation Research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. The Presseau Group (https://ohri.ca/en/find-researcher/jpresseau) applies behavioural and implementation science approaches to support the development, evaluation, and application of evidence into routine clinical practice. The prospective Methodologist will contribute to multiple concurrent research projects, including chronic pain–related implementation science projects conducted in collaboration with the Chronic Pain Network (https://cpn-rdc.ca/). This will include contributing to systematic and scoping reviews, applied quantitative evaluation activities, and other implementation-focused research to support the timely delivery of findings. Work will be conducted within established protocols and analytic plans, in close collaboration with investigators and project partners. The role is embedded within a multidisciplinary team that adopts an integrated knowledge translation approach, involving people with lived experience and knowledge users at all stages of the research process. This role is based physically in Ottawa, with hybrid work possible

Basic Requirements

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., behavioural science, health or organizational psychology, health services research, knowledge mobilization, implementation science, or a related applied health discipline).
  • Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of applied implementation, behavioural, and/or evaluation research, including managing multiple, concurrent workstreams, competing deadlines, and working with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Experience managing operational aspects of research projects, including tracking progress, maintaining documentation, and liaising with collaborators and knowledge users.
  • Experience leading or independently conducting evaluations of acceptability, feasibility, or implementation of clinical initiatives, encompassing data collection, management, and descriptive analysis.
  • Experience supporting applied quantitative or evaluation activities, including data management and descriptive analysis.
  • Experience using review management software (e.g., DistillerSR, Covidence) and quantitative analysis software (e.g., SPSS or R)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to data quality, protocol adherence, and ethical research conduct

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with implementation science and/or behavioural science frameworks, and their application to research conducted in real-world clinical settings.
  • Experience conducting systematic and/or scoping reviews, including involvement in screening, data extraction, and synthesis processes.
  • Experience working on research related to chronic conditions, including chronic pain.
  • Experience engaging with people with lived experience and knowledge users as part of an integrated knowledge translation approach.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary research teams and across partner organisations
  • Bilingual (French/English) an asset

Contract Details

This is a full-time contract. 

Salary
Min: $66,643 - Max: $88,856 Per Annum
