Supporting the next generation of researchers
Seven doctoral students at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) have been awarded prestigious doctoral scholarships from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, worth $120,000 each. This program recognizes and supports the next generation of outstanding researchers, innovators, knowledge workers and creative thinkers.
The awardees at OHRI, who are also graduate students at the University of Ottawa, are conducting research that could transform our understanding of health and disease and lead to new treatments and health innovations. Their research projects are focused on conditions such as cancer, stroke, pulmonary embolism, spinal muscular atrophy and preterm birth.
