Dr. Murthy’s research program uses clinical and health administrative data to conduct epidemiological studies, pragmatic trials and clinical prediction models, which he applies to the study of inflammatory bowel diseases and gastrointestinal cancers. He has attained more than $3 million in peer-reviewed PI grant funding and has authored more than 110 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, 5 clinical practice guidelines, and 4 book chapters. He holds a Tier II Faculty of Medicine Research Chair in IBD from the University of Ottawa.
