Seminar details
Dr. Crystal Rogers is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Cell Biology at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She received her B.S. from UCLA, her Ph.D. in Developmental Biology from Georgetown University, and completed postdoctoral training at the California Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on the gene regulatory network and cellular mechanisms that control neural tube and neural crest development, with particular emphasis on how cadherin-mediated adhesion, cytoskeletal dynamics, and signaling pathways coordinate cell fate specification and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transitions. Using avian and amphibian model systems, her lab integrates molecular perturbations with imaging approaches to define how these processes are conserved or diverge across species and how they are disrupted by environmental factors. Dr. Rogers is a recipient of the UC Davis Chancellor’s Fellowship and the Betty Hay Award from the EMT International Association, and she serves as Co-Editor-in-Chief of Differentiation.
