OHRI Seminar Series

"Precision Cardiovascular Genomics: Decoding Disease Risk with Stem Cell Models""

2:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Sprott Centre for Stem Cell Research Seminar Room

Speaker

VLS

Dr. Valentina Lo Sardo

PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Cell & Regenerative Biology, University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health

Seminar details

Research in the Lo Sardo lab focuses on understanding the functional consequences of genetic variants linked to Cardiovascular disease in different cell types. We use stem cell technologies, somatic reprogramming, genome editing paired with live imaging and transcriptomic profiles to identify mechanisms of susceptibility acting in the cells of the vascular wall.
