Job description
We are seeking a Senior Web Developer to design, develop, and enhance secure, scalable web applications and digital platforms. This role contributes to delivering high-quality, accessible, and user-focused solutions, while supporting technical architecture, best practices, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with team members across projects, help guide development approaches, and contribute to a dynamic, evolving technology environment.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's or college degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of professional IT experience
- 5 years of hands-on development experience with .NET and SQL (MS SQL or MySQL)
- Experience integrating AI and machine learning capabilities into applications, including LLM API integration (Claude, OpenAI), RAG architectures, and agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor)
- Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using ASP.NET, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, and PHP
- Experience with web and database integration, including RESTful API design and consumption
- Experience building secure applications, including protection against SQL injections, XSS, CSRF, and following secure API and authentication best practices (OAuth, JWT)
- Experience with custom development on content management systems, particularly Drupal and WordPress
- Experience with AWS cloud architecture and services
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and code review workflows
- Experience with UI/UX design principles and responsive, accessible web design (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver multiple concurrent IT projects
- In-depth knowledge of computing environments, operating systems (Windows and Linux), and modern development tooling
- Excellent communication, client service, and teamwork skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Azure AI services)
- Networking and security experience, including familiarity with WAFs, VPNs, and zero-trust principles
- DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and containerization (Docker)
- Experience with serverless architectures (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)
- Experience with Zendesk administration and customization
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Experience working in healthcare, research, or academic environment
- Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset
- Experience working in a regulated environment with awareness of privacy and data protection requirements (e.g., PHIPA, PIPEDA, or equivalent)
- Experience managing high-performance computing (HPC) clusters and supercomputers. (SLURM)
Contract Details
This is a 1-year full-time contract.
Salary
Min: $46.214/hr. Max: $61.619/hr.
