Five scientists at The Ottawa Hospital ranked among world’s top researchers
Five scientists at The Ottawa Hospital have made it onto the prestigious list of Highly Cited ResearchersTM for 2021, with multiple papers that rank in the top one percent in their fields. Their research has been used and built upon by tens of thousands of others around the world to improve care for conditions ranging from cancer to stroke to arthritis to mental health.
The scientists, who are also affiliated with the University of Ottawa, include:
- Dr. Ian Graham, a global pioneer in knowledge translation and leader of the Integrated Knowledge Translation Research Network.
- Dr. Jeremy Grimshaw, a world-renowned expert in systematic reviews and implementation science and leader of The Ottawa Hospital's Centre for Implementation Research.
- Dr. David Moher, a world-leader in research methods, reporting and meta-science and leader of The Ottawa Hospital's Centre for Journalology.
- Dr. Marco Solmi, a psychiatrist and world-renowned expert in mental health and meta-science, recently recruited from the University of Padova in Italy.
- Dr. Peter Tugwell, a rheumatologist and global pioneer in health equity and knowledge translation, who also co-leads the Ottawa Centre for Health Equity.
All five researchers are part of The Ottawa Hospital's Clinical Epidemiology Program and four are part of the Ottawa Methods Centre.
Approximately 6,600 individuals made this year's Highly Cited list, out of a total of nearly eight million scientists around the world. The list is compiled by bibliometric experts and data scientists at the Institute for Scientific Information™ at Clarivate, using data from the Web of Science™ citation index.
