Dr. Amirrtha Srikanthan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa, a Clinician Investigator in the Cancer Therapeutics Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and an academic medical oncologist specializing in Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) oncology, breast cancer and sarcoma in the Division of Medical Oncology at the Ottawa Hospital.
Dr. Srikanthan obtained her MD at Queen’s University. She completed her Internal Medicine training at McMaster University, followed by Medical Oncology training at the University of Toronto. With a particular interest in AYA oncology, Dr. Srikanthan pursued a fellowship in AYA oncology, breast cancer and sarcoma, at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Ontario. She concurrently completed a Masters in Health Administration.
She is currently Medical Lead of the Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) Cancer Care Services Enhancements Program, Champlain Regional Cancer Program, and Wellness Beyond Cancer Program at The Ottawa Hospital. She previously served as national chair of the Royal College Area of Focused Competency in AYA Oncology (2018-2024).
