Dr. Glenwood Goss honoured for leadership in cancer clinical trials
Dr. Glenwood Goss has been awarded the Dr. Joseph Pater Founder’s Award for Excellence in Clinical Trials Research from the Canadian Cancer Trials Group for his expertise and leadership in cancer research and drug development.
This award recognizes a clinical trials researcher whose leadership and body of work has contributed to significant advances in the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of cancer.
Dr. Goss has led many international clinical trials, with a focus on developing personalized, targeted therapies, particularly for lung cancer. His research has contributed to the approval of multiple new drugs. He also collaborates widely with discovery scientists to translate discoveries into clinical therapies.
Dr. Goss previously served as medical lead for the cancer clinical trials unit at The Ottawa Hospital. He has authored over 400 scientific publications, with papers in the New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine and Lancet Oncology. Dr. Goss continues to be a mentor to many cancer researchers at OHRI and across Canada.
