Bulk Molecular Analysis


Overview

You might be wondering why we don't just call this "Bulk Sequencing" - it's because this service encompasses not just sequencing (RNA, DNA, epigenetics) but also proteomics via our Olink platform. Bulk molecular analysis captures the full scope.

Bulk molecular analysis examines the aggregate signal from entire cell populations within your samples, providing average measurements across all cells rather than single-cell resolution. Whether you're studying gene expression patterns across conditions, investigating chromatin architecture, or quantifying protein levels in samples, these high-throughput methods reveal molecular differences, regulatory mechanisms, and biological pathways.

WORKFLOW

  1. Contact Caroline to discuss your research question and sample types
  2. Receive protocol recommendation and sample requirements
  3. Submit request via Idea Elan Infinity (https://secure17.ideaelan.com/uOttawa/Public/applogin.aspx)
  4. Submit samples for library preparation
  5. Libraries sequenced on NovaSeq X (see our NGS page for sequencing details)
  6. Data delivered via BaseSpace or electronic transfer

Library preparation protocols vary significantly by application. We work with you to select the appropriate method based on your biological question, sample type, and input material.
