Overview

Single-cell analysis resolves cellular heterogeneity by measuring gene expression, chromatin accessibility, or protein abundance in individual cells rather than averaging across bulk populations. This approach reveals rare cell types, identifies cellular states, maps developmental trajectories, and uncovers cell-to-cell variability that drives biological processes.

10x Genomics Chromium X

The Chromium X offers unparalleled flexibility in single-cell analysis, supporting everything from small-scale targeted experiments to high-throughput comprehensive profiling. On-chip multiplexing (OCM) enables significant cost savings by allowing multiple samples to run together on a single chip, splitting standard 20k cell samples into 4x 5k cell samples per channel - ideal when researchers don't need full 20k cell depth.
