Core Facilities and Platforms

OHRI provides state-of-the-art core research facilities and platforms to internal and external users, in partnership with the University of Ottawa and The Ottawa Hospital.

These platforms are fueling world-class research in areas ranging from genomics and proteomics, to cell and virus manufacturing, to clinical trials and epidemiological studies. Additional core facilities are available through the University of Ottawa. Members of OHRI can also explore a full list of research equipment on OHRI’s internal webpage.

Core funding and access

OHRI’s core facilities and platforms may be funded through peer-reviewed grants from organizations such as the Canada Foundation for Innovation and Ontario Research Fund, as well as donations to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation. Funding may also be provided through partnerships with the University of Ottawa, local research institutes and medical departments.

While most cores offer free initial consultations, it is expected that researchers will build core support into research project budgets when applying for funding.
