Researchers at The Ottawa Hospital awarded 6 CIHR grants worth more than $7 million

Researchers at The Ottawa Hospital have been awarded more than $7 million from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) to lead six cutting-edge research projects. 

These projects will advance science and improve health in areas such as cancer, surgery, blood transfusions, cardiac arrest, artificial intelligence, thrombosis, patient engagement and critical care.

“Research projects such as these help us bring the latest advances in medicine to our patients while generating evidence to improve health around the world,” said Dr. Rebecca Auer, Executive Vice-President of Research and Innovation at The Ottawa Hospital. “These kinds of investments in health research are critical for enhancing Canadian science, health and productivity.”

Researchers at The Ottawa Hospital are also co-leading several CIHR-funded projects administered at other institutions.
